Where's my Constitutional Right???

I am in a habit of reading newspaper every morning...the only thing i can find to read is elections and our right to vote. There are people coming from all walks of life and educating the masses about excercising this constitutional right and choosing the govt. The cricketers too are not behind in the league..So the other day while turning the pages of HT City, i read a superb article(or rather a blog) by MTV VJ Ranvijay...he wrote that we educated class are least concerned bout casting our vote... In a way he was right...i personally know many people who would rather enjoy a chutti on elections rather than going out and vote..but there are many others like I who want to enjoy the freedom of choosing our govt.(Though our politicians are not deserving :(..), to this the first thing that came in my mind was...Hello!!! How can i vote when the govt has not even provided me with a voters ID despite me submitting the documents last April???

This makes me realize that we Indians are so helpless when it comes to our democracy! I am sure there will be many in India who are facing the same situation. So, one day i penned out a letter to Editor in one of the leading national newspaper thinking that i would recieve a response..But i was sooo wrong..Now i want to raise a question to the govt. and Chief Election Commisioner; if publicity can happen for influencing people to vote, then why can't there be an easy way to ask directly as to how i can get my voters' card.

This is a shame for us that we call ourselves democratic. The reality lies that people in India are neither democratic nor have a say in the formation of our country...Still i am awaiting for someone to reply me whether i will get this grand oppurtunity to excercise my right or not...

very true.infact the govt becomes active in issuing the voter cards only when elections are declared.
